Tender for School Transport Services issued on 26^th February 2020 (the “Tender Competition”)

CANCELLATION OF THE TENDER COMPETITION

To Whom It May Concern,

I refer to the above Tender Competition.

 As an Operator on the above Qualification Panels, Bus Éireann wishes to inform you that it will not be proceeding with the Tender Competition and Bus Éireann is terminating the Tender Competition in accordance with Condition 10.1 and Condition 10.13 of the Conditions of Tendering, which were issued with the Tender Competition documents. 

 The decision to terminate the Tender Competition has been made because of the unforeseen and unprecedented circumstances that have arisen due to the COVID-19 crisis.

 The public health restrictions introduced on 27^th March 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 crisis have critically impacted the timeline for the completion of the Tender Competition. As a result, Bus Éireann considers that it will not be possible to open and evaluate tenders and to award and conclude contracts prior to the commencement of the new school term in August 2020. In addition, it is not yet known when Bus Éireann would be in a position to commence the opening and evaluation of the tenders and to award and conclude the contracts.

Bus Éireann currently intends that the operating boards included in the Tender Competition will form part of the tender competition for school transport services due to be advertised in 2021. 

Bus Éireann would like to thank those Operators who submitted a tender for the Tender Competition.
